The Rock & Roll Hall of Fame, based in Cleveland OH, has served as a cornerstone in preserving and celebrating a rich history of rock and roll tradition. This tradition is entirely incomplete without the recognition of hip hop as a mammoth musical and cultural influence, which is highlighted in a new partnership between the Rock Hall and Rock and Roll Forever Foundationâ€s TeachRock program.

Run DMC & posse Hollis Queens, NYC, 1984

TeachRockâ€s completely free, student-facing “Roots of Hip Hop” Distance Learning Pack, helps underscore the importance of some of the Rock Hallâ€s earliest and most recent inductees - artists from Parliament Funkadelic (class of 1997) to Grandmaster Flash and the Furious Five (2007), Run-D.M.C (2009), Public Enemy (2013) and N.W.A (2016). The collaboration also features breakdowns of important techniques like "sampling" popularized by the genre.
